Macchiato

Macchiato

Macchiato, Italian for ‘to stain or mark’. Traditionally served as a standard espresso with a dash of cold or frothed milk and a small dollop of foam into the middle of the ‘crema’.

Ingredient

  • Espresso glass (3 oz)
  • Single or double shot of espresso (1-2 oz)
  • Dash of cold or frothed milk & small dollop of foam.

Preparation

Brew one shot of fresh espresso with Wirsh espresso machine.

Steam milk to 160°F, and hold the steam wand just below the surface to create foam.

Pour milk into espresso to taste and spoon foam on top. It might take a few tries to get your personal ratio right!

Enjoy!
